Industrial boiler induction fans are critical mechanical devices that extract flue gas from the boiler, maintain negative pressure in the furnace, and facilitate the discharge of flue gas; they play a vital role in industrial boiler systems. During actual operation, induction fans may experience various failures that affect the boiler’s normal operation. Therefore, to ensure the stable operation of the boiler system, we need to diagnose and analyze fan failures and implement appropriate solutions.
We must analyze induced draft fan failures and take effective measures to address them, thereby ensuring the normal operation of industrial boilers. Stable operation is crucial for guaranteeing boiler efficiency and production safety.
1. Bearing Failures: Bearings are among the components in fans that are prone to damage. Overheating, wear, poor lubrication, or contamination can all lead to bearing failure. Bearing failure typically manifests as increased fan noise, intensified vibration, or abnormally high temperatures.
2. Severe Fan Vibration: This is often caused by bearing damage, impeller imbalance, dust accumulation on the impeller, or insufficient rigidity of the foundation or base. Vibration not only leads to unstable fan operation but can also cause the motor anchor bolts to loosen, further exacerbating the vibration.
3. Impeller Damage: Over time, the impeller may become damaged due to corrosion, wear, or imbalance. Impeller damage can result in reduced airflow, increased noise, and may even affect the fan’s normal operation.
4. Duct Blockage: During prolonged operation, clogged filters, dust accumulation in ducts, or the entry of foreign objects can cause blockages in the ductwork, thereby affecting the fan’s airflow and efficiency.
5. Motor Failure: Motor failure may manifest as an inability to start, unstable operation, or abnormal current and voltage readings. Damaged motor windings, circuit faults, or motor overload can all be causes of motor failure.
6. Belt Slippage or Speed Fluctuations: When speed fluctuations exceed 5%, the unit should be shut down to adjust the belt tension or replace worn belts.

1. Bearing Failure: Lubricate and inspect bearings regularly, and replace damaged bearings promptly; select appropriate lubricants or oils and ensure proper lubrication methods; keep the bearing operating environment clean to prevent contamination; if the bearing temperature exceeds 90°C, immediately shut down the machine for inspection to prevent bearing seizure or shaft seizure.
2. Fan Vibration: Periodically inspect and tighten the motor anchor bolts to ensure the fan is securely installed; perform balancing adjustments on the impeller to eliminate sources of imbalance; clean dust buildup from the impeller to keep the fan interior clean; inspect and reinforce the rigidity of the foundation or base.
3. Impeller Damage: Periodically inspect the impeller for wear and corrosion, and replace worn parts promptly; perform balancing tests on the impeller to ensure proper operation.
4. Addressing Duct Blockages: Regularly inspect and clean filters and ducts to prevent blockages; install filters to prevent dust and other contaminants from entering the ducts; ensure ducts remain unobstructed.
5. Addressing Motor Failures: Check whether the motor’s current and voltage are normal, and repair any electrical faults; inspect the motor windings for damage and replace the motor if necessary; ensure the motor load remains within reasonable limits to avoid overloading.
6. Adjusting and Replacing the Belt: Adjust belt tension, apply anti-slip lubricant to the belt to enhance friction, and regularly wipe away dust and oil residue from the belt and pulley grooves; replace worn belts, align the pulleys, and repair or replace pulleys as needed.
In summary, diagnosing and resolving boiler fan malfunctions requires a comprehensive consideration of multiple factors. Through regular inspections, maintenance, and servicing, potential malfunctions can be identified and addressed in a timely manner, ensuring the stable operation of the boiler fan. At the same time, when malfunctions occur, they should be analyzed based on specific circumstances, and appropriate solutions should be implemented.
